Job Summary
Maintenance Mechanics set up, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment. Maintenance Mechanics must be strong multi-taskers who can work through a list of assigned priorities, while also responding to emergency calls to resolve issues with production equipment while following standard safety and maintenance procedures. Employees must be able to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Mechanics
- Troubleshoot plant facilities and production equipment problems
- Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in an orderly fashion
- Attain safety, quality and productivity goals
- Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
- Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory
- Obtain training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements
- Complete all work in accordance with standards and regulations
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
- Participate in Continual Improvement activities
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic OR a minimum 8 years of experience with associate’s degree OR Certified Journeyperson status as a Maintenance Mechanic with 3 years’ experience
- High school diploma or GED is required
Required Skills / Knowledge:
- Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive co-worker relations
- Able to read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, suppliers and customers
- Able to use computer and software as required
- Able to work to blueprints and sketches
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally

- 2nd (Afternoon) Mon – Fri 2:00pm – 10:30pm
- 2nd (Afternoon) Mon – Fri 3:00pm – 11:30pm
- 3rd (Overnight) Sun – Thurs 10:00pm – 6:30am
- 3rd (Overnight) Sun – Thurs 11:00pm – 7:30am
*Overtime is occasionally available on all shifts and weekends
*Mandatory daily & weekend overtime is occasionally (but seldomly) required
