Job Summary

Tool and Die Makers support manufacturing operations by producing, maintaining, and repairing all tooling and related machinery, including precision tools like jigs, molds and dies. Employees must be able to work overtime and weekends, as needed.

Key Responsibilities of Tool and Die Makers

  • Repair and maintain production tools and dies
  • Construct new tools and dies as required
  • Verify conformance of machined or repaired dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments
  • Troubleshoot problems during production
  • Modify dies to conform to engineering changes, conduct tryouts of new dies
  • Work to blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions
  • Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion
  • Operate lift truck, overhead crane, floor scrubber and equipment to wash dies
  • Obtain training for professional development and to stay current on tooling and safety requirements
  • Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
  • Attain safety, quality and productivity goals
  • Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities.
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies

Education and Experience:

  • Journeyman status in Tool and Die or equivalent knowledge and 10 years of experience
  • High school diploma or GED is required

Required Skills / Knowledge:

  • Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive co-worker relations
  • Able to read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, suppliers and customers
  • Able to use computer and software as required
  • Able to work to blueprints and sketches
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally

Now hiring for the following shifts:

  • 2nd (Afternoon) Mon – Fri 3:00pm – 11:30pm
  • 3rd (Overnight) Sun – Thurs 11:00pm – 7:30am

*Overtime is occasionally available on all shifts and weekends

*Mandatory daily & weekend overtime is occasionally (but seldomly) required
